- Over 70% of the active healthcare construction projects in the Middle East, valued at over $18 billion, are situated in Saudi Arabia.
- Building of Hospitals: The Saudi government has made large investments in the building of new hospitals, particularly through the Health Ministry. One of the biggest projects targeted at upgrading healthcare infrastructure is the SAR 2.2 billion Shamal Al Riyadh Hospital in north Riyadh. - Rehab and Long-Term Care: In Saudi Arabia, a new rehabilitation and long-term care facility is scheduled to open its doors in 2024 thanks to a partnership between Olayan Saudi Holding Company and VAMED. This institution will offer vital rehabilitation and post-acute care services.
- Vision 2030: A major element of Saudi Arabia's reform is the provision of healthcare. It seeks to enhance the healthcare industry and coordinate public-private partnership and privatization programs with capacity building.
- Eleven new hospitals are being built in Oman; the first, Al Suwaiq Hospital, is scheduled to open in 2024.
- With $59% of the GCC's $100 billion in healthcare spending, Saudi Arabia leads the field. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia plans to invest $65 billion in building up its healthcare system. Saudi Arabia plans to privatize about 290 hospitals and 2,300 basic health centers by 2030.
